Welcome to my beekeeping world
What began as a simple opportunity in 1963 has grown into a lifelong passion shaped by experience, curiosity and a deep respect for bees. This page shares my journey, the evolution of my beekeeping methods and the knowledge I’ve gathered along the way.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and the work I do.
About us
My name is Richard.
I first entered the world of beekeeping in 1963 when I took over the apiary of a retiring beekeeper who relied on very traditional and often quite primitive methods. It was an eye-opening introduction to the craft, built on practices that had remained unchanged for generations.
After several years, I stepped away to focus on raising my family and building a new business. Although I was no longer working with bees on a daily basis, the passion never fully left. In time, I returned to beekeeping with a fresh perspective, a few colonies of my own and a far more modern and informed approach to hive management.
Today, my ambition is to share and highlight the many methods used across the beekeeping community. From long-established techniques to the innovative practices of new hobbyists and experienced professionals, I aim to demonstrate the wide variety of ways in which bees can be cared for, understood and supported.
